Faithcast, episode 33

Faithcast is the weekly podcast from catholicnews.ie, the news source for the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Presented by Brenda Drumm, Faithcast is a mixture of interviews and news from the Catholic Church in Ireland.

In episode 33 of Faithcast, we have a special focus on this week’s Vatican meeting on the protection of minors.

Ahead of his departure for this week’s special meeting on the protection of minors in the Catholic Church, Archbishop Eamon Martin has offered a message to survivors and victims of abuse.  As part of his preparations for this week’s Vatican meeting, Archbishop Eamon has engaged in numerous face to face consultations and discussions with survivors of abuse across the four provinces of Ireland. He has also received feedback in writing from survivors and from the lay faithful.

Archbishop Eamon has shared an audio recording of his message to survivors of abuse on this week’s Faithcast.

The faith news this week features the Day of Prayer for Victims and Survivors of abuse and the candle of atonement initiative; Pope Francis’ prayer request for this week’s meeting on the protection of minors; and, an iCatholic.ie special series related to the special meeting on child safeguarding in Rome this week.
