Diocesan Clerical Changes

Bishop McGuckian, SJ has announced the following Clergy changes:

 

Fanad (Clondavaddog)

Fr Charlie Byrne, in addition to his role as Parish Priest of Mevagh is confirmed as the Adminstrator of the Parish of Clondavaddog. From the weekend of the 14th/15th of October Fr Anthony Briody, formerly curate in the Parish of Stranorlar will be the Curate in the Parish of Clondavaddog, resident in Fanavolty.

Fr Pat McGarvey, the outgoing Parish Priest, is on sabbatical.

 

St Johnston (Taughboyne)

As of the weekend of October 14th/15th the parish of St Johnston will be jointly administered by Frs Martin Cunningham and Philip Kemmy as ‘Pastors in Solidum’, with Fr Cunningham as the Moderator. Fr Cunningham will look after the Mass schedule and arrangements for funerals and weddings. Fr Kemmy will take care of administration, the Finance Committee and the Parish Pastoral Council as well as the sacrament of baptism.

After many years of service Monsignor Dan Carr will retire as parish priest. He will continue to live in the parish as Pastor Emeritus.

 

Stranorlar

Fr Vincent Finnegan OFM, on loan from the Franciscan Order, is appointed Curate in the Parish of Stranorlar, effective on the weekend of October 14th/15th.

 

 

Bishop McGuckian thanks all those Clergy who have accepted new appointments and wishes every blessing to Mgr. Dan Carr on his retirement.
