Very Rev Seamus Meehan, PE, Templecrone.

The death has taken place on Saturday 17^th January 2026 of Very Rev Seamus Meehan, retired Parish Priest of Dungloe (Templecrone).

Born: 5^th December 1937.

Ordained: 17^th June 1962 in St Patrick ’s College, Maynooth, Co Kildare by Archbishop John Charles McQuaid, Archbishop of Dublin.

Fr Meehan received his primary education in Falcarragh and his secondary education in St Eunan’s College, Letterkenny. He studied for the Priesthood in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Co Kildare.

Fr Seamus’s remains will repose in McGlynn’s Funeral Home, Dungloe, F94ND68, Sunday 18^th of January from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm and on Monday from 3pm with removal to St. Crona’s Church Dungloe for 6pm.

Rosary will take place in the Church at 8pm on Monday evening.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon with interment in Maghery Cemetery.
